What a fabulous week! I flew in from Malta for a holiday with a difference...a chance to paint every day in the most beautiful spots inPembrokeshire, guided and tutored by an incredibly talented artist!
Tom patiently gave us a demo on every location and then left us free to choose our own comfortable spot. His guidance was always very encouraging and positive. It was also a chance to make friends with the group. I definitely recommend this plein air course.. 10/10!!! Thank you, Tom

I recently took part in Tom Shepherd’s “Painting Pembrokeshire” course, and I can honestly say it was one of the most enriching art experiences I’ve ever had. It’s hard to sum up just how incredible it was in a few lines—but I’ll try.
The setting itself was stunning, and the group dynamic was both fun and supportive, thanks in large part to the smooth and thoughtful organisation behind the scenes. But what truly made the experience exceptional was Tom himself.
Tom has a remarkable gift for teaching. He meets each artist exactly where they are, adapting his guidance to individual needs with warmth, generosity, and insight. I came away with valuable technical tips, visible improvements in my painting—and, perhaps most importantly, a real boost in confidence.
That inner shift is showing in my work, and I’m so grateful for it.

I just attended Tom’s week long painting workshop in the St David’s region of Pembrokeshire.
I highly recommend Tom’s workshops. He picked beautiful and interesting locations for our plein air experiences. He did easier to more challenging demonstrations to ease us in to painting and was so encouraging, giving each person the help and attention they needed to grow as a watercolourist. I loved this workshop and didn’t want it to end. Tom is such a gem of a teacher, kind and patient.

I have just returned from a wonderful painting course in Pembrokeshire. The places you chose for us to paint were perfect and suited to all capabilities , both physically for the older participant and more importantly, beautiful settings. This allowed people to find areas to paint to suit their style of painting and interests.
The group was lively and gelled together so well. Having a meal together with participants and accompanying people made it special too.
I would thoroughly recommend the course to anyone. It will give a wonderful few days in
glorious locations and with a great and teacher, who will encourage and guide no matter what the level of ability. -Alison
