The idea behind these monthly live sessions is to take themes, concepts and questions from my School of Watercolour and dive deeper into them.
They will also be a great opportunity to connect further with myself, working as general Q&A sessions, a point of contact, as well as focusing on specific topics more deeply.
There is some delay between questions and themes raised by School members and the release of relevant tutorials and technique videos to address them. I love that these live session can bridge this gap; allowing us to look at specific techniques, topics or subjects in more detail, to compliment and enhance the recorded elements of the school.
Please note: We are working on integrating the booking, watching and re-watching, into the School to make the whole process much simpler and more slick for everyone involved, members and non-,members alike. For now we are doing the old way of simple emailing out all info and links before and after.
We will be packing a lot into these sessions.
These are not simply a demo, but rather a structured deep dive to really help gain better UNDERSTANDING with a strong FOCUS on helping you to IMPROVE your own painting.
With the right amount of concentrated theory, alongside practical application, these will significantly help you to unleash your creativity and leap your painting forward.

COMPOSITIONis often overlooked in pursuit of techniques and seemingly more "advanced" paintings principles...yet is the absolute foundation of a good painting and with fairly basic considerations and pointers makes the whole creation process so much easier and simpler
Plus there is so much more wrapped up in this topic that is both fun and exciting, but also extremely practical and useful to us as painters.
In part 1 we will set the scene of what composition is, with lots of considerations, including simple yet effective planning. We will look at how to simplify both our subject but also our painting process and techniques then how to translate all of this into a successful watercolour painting

Following on from Part 1 (all though each can work as a solo session in their own right) we continue this oftne overlooked, yet extremely useful watercolour topic!
Wrapped up in tis topic are focal points & points of interest, creating drama, depth, atmosphere, and light; as well simplifying a subject to create painting which hold together well; plus so much more!
A simple yet well considered composition really sets us up for success, and even better gives us loads of leeway for so called mistakes and things not going to plan (a real feature of watercolour!)
