OPEN to anyone and everyone as stand-alone sessions on the topics! (School Members do receive a discount)
I love creating pre-recorded tutorials for the Watercolour School, but I’m so excited to add this LIVE element—a chance to dive deeper into key themes, answer your questions in real-time, and bridge the gap between concepts and hands-on learning.
These sessions are more than just a demo—they're structured deep dives designed to build understanding and improve your painting. We’ll tackle key techniques, colour theory, composition, and more, all in a fun, interactive, and practical way.
We're also working on fully integrating booking, watching, and rewatching directly into the Watercolour School to make the process even smoother. For now, all details will be sent via email.
These sessions are all about unlocking your creativity, building confidence, and making painting fun and exciting! With the right balance of theory and hands-on application, they’ll help take your painting to the next level.
So let’s get stuck in! 🎨
Please scroll down to see all remaining sessions this year. (If you are using discount codes unfortunately you do have to book each session separately, rather than add all to basket)

Painting shadows often feels tricky—but it really doesn’t have to be. In fact, our choices around colour and how to approach them are actually pretty simple.
Join me as we continue exploring this essential (but ultimately fun) part of watercolour. This session follows Part 1 but also works perfectly as a standalone.
Shadows are what make watercolours truly come to life—which is exactly why painting them is so enjoyable!

Painting shadows can feel a bit awkward—we’re often not quite sure what to do or how to do it. But not only are they an essential part of watercolour… they’re also extremely fun, because shadows are what make your painting pop and come to life!
This is Part 3 of 3, but it still works perfectly as a standalone.

I talk a lot about the importance of foundational principles and getting to grips with the medium—all important stuff, yes....but....
....ultimately, the real reason we’re learning all of that is to express ourselves… and that should be fun!
So let’s look at gently letting go of all the heavy stuff and getting back to simply enjoying watercolour—with our safety net ready if and when we need it.

Ok, acrylics are a great medium in their own right—of course! But here, we’re looking at them from a learning angle… as watercolour painters.
Watercolour can feel overwhelming—that’s just the simple reality of it. Mostly because we have to manage everything at once.
But with acrylics, we can isolate each part—tone, shape, colour, edges—and work on them in our own time (not watercolour’s time!).
This lets us understand each element much more clearly within the context of a painting. And that’s exactly what we’ll explore here.
We’ll start with a bit of introductory theory and examples, followed by a single acrylic painting—thought through entirely with the question:how could this help my watercolour?(Though it’s also a great intro—or re-intro—to acrylics as a medium too!)

November’s live session looks at acrylic painting through the lens of a watercolourist—and how it can help remove the overwhelm of watercolour while still deeply benefiting our watercolour practice!
In this session, we’ll quickly revisit what we’ve learned from the acrylic painting, then explore the same theory in watercolour—and finally, we’ll recreate the exact same painting, but this time in watercolour.
There’s loads to learn here, and I know it’ll be a brilliant way to round off the year!
